How To Read A Map

Reading maps is easy, once you know what you're doing. I am writing this as a guide on how to read and understand a map.

  • What's a map and why is it useful?
A map is just basically a picture, drawing or diagram showing a location, usually as seen from above. Maps range from very simple (just a few lines or pictures) to very complex (showing many different features of the landscape).

Creating A Photo Page For My Website

I have just added a new page that includes a gallery of my best photos. To do this isn't so easy in blogger as it doesn't come as a preset option so I had to learn how to edit the HTML code for the page. To start off with I didn't use HTML code, I just used the normal blogger page editor to upload all of my photos but there was no way for me to display them all side by side as small thumbnails like I wanted, so I had to look for other options. That's when I found a basic HTML code for this on another website and managed to modify it slightly to include my own photos and descriptions. The code allows me to display photos and will rearrange to fit different sized screens, it is explained a bit more on the website at the bottom under 'Responsive Image Gallery'

How To Play Civilization IV On Windows 10

I have enjoyed playing Civilization IV on my computer for a very long time now. Quite a few years. I own the disc, which is where the problem comes in now. Windows 10 doesn't include the old copy protection software from previous windows versions which allowed games like this to run so putting the disc in now allows me to 'install' Civilization IV, but not to actually play it. Everything just stops when I try, or the window will pop up momentarily and then disappear.
I have managed, after a lot of attempts to find a way to get around this problem and let me play my game on Windows 10 without taking the 'official' recommendation - just buy a new copy of the game from steam or amazon and that will work because the problem lies with the disc not with the game itself.
This is all fine for some people, but as I have already got the disc i'd rather not pay again for something I already have, so finding a way to get around the problem is required.

Ideas For An Awesome Home

These are my ideas for what would make an awesome home and are basically a collection of what I would include in my dream home. Some of these ideas are more possible than others but I will include as much detail about each 'component' of my ultimate house.

Ill start off with a long list of all the parts that I would include (not including the standard stuff for a house like kitchen, or TV - they would be obvious in any home), and then I will go into more detail below.

  1. Library
  2. Reading nook
  3. Home cinema
  4. Swimming pool/swimming pond
  5. Treehouse
  6. Shelving ideas
  7. Storage ideas
  8. Pool table
  9. Camp area (with fire pit)
  10. Pirate ship bedroom
  11. Cool sheds
Right then, time to start getting some of these ideas out of my head and onto the page:

How I Would Build A Home Cinema

I love watching films and TV, but wouldn't it be great if I could watch them on the big screen any time I like, without having to put up with the usual downsides to visiting the cinemas. Unlimited selection - I can watch anything I own, not just what films are on at the cinemas now - no other people causing distractions in my private cinema room, the room will be much cleaner as there is only a few people using it and it is easier to clean.
There are a few things to consider with my idea for a cinema at home:
1. What to put in the cinema room?
2. How to access and store my media?

My Idea For A DIY Heated Swimming Pool/Hot Tub

This swimming pool idea takes multiple posts across the internet together to come up with a DIY heated pool that uses up little to no power and will cost very little to build. As all the ideas are collected together from parts of other peoples posts online I will put links to all the original posts at the end of this.

To start off with we need a pool, this can be small or large, the larger the pool, the harder it will be to heat. There are loads of different ways to build a swimming pool and they often include digging a big hole and lining it with concrete. The pool that I would build is different to this, it is built using wood pallets strapped together.
